What is Dermal Filler?

Dermal fillers are injectable substances used to restore volume, smooth out wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. As we age, we lose collagen, elastin, and fat, which leads to sagging or hollow areas. Most fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body that retains moisture and adds volume. When injected, the filler plumps up the area, which can smooth wrinkles or enhance shape and definition.

Restylane

Restylane is a type of dermal filler primarily composed of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin that helps maintain moisture, volume, and elasticity. Restylane is commonly used to reduce wrinkles, restore volume loss, and enhance facial contours. Restylane attracts water and binds to it, creating volume and plumping the skin. Because this filler is primarily hyaluronic acid, it can stimulate the body's own collagen production overtime- contributing to longer lasting results. Restylane typically lasts 6-12 months.

Belotero

Belotero is a dermal filler that is also made of hyaluronic acid. It’s designed to smooth out wrinkles and add volume to various areas of the face. Belotero is often used for more superficial or fine lines, making it ideal for areas like the under-eyes, nasolabial folds (smile lines), fine lines around the mouth, and lips. The HA in Belotero integrates seamlessly into the skin’s tissue, which makes it particularly effective for treating fine lines and delicate areas without causing lumps or noticeable borders. This filler provides a smooth and subtle effect that’s often ideal for those looking for natural-looking results. The affects of Belotero can be expected to last 6-9 months.

Revanesse

RHA Collection (sometimes referred to as Revanesse) is a line of hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers that are designed to treat more dynamic facial wrinkles and folds, providing long-lasting and natural-looking results. The key feature of RHA is that it’s a more elastic and durable form of hyaluronic acid compared to traditional fillers. This means it’s designed to better integrate with the skin’s natural movement, making it ideal for areas that experience a lot of facial expressions. The RHA fillers are created using a unique manufacturing process that preserves the natural structure of HA, allowing it to be more resilient and flexible; thus, allowing it to last 6-12 months.
